I'm David, a software developer based in Zimbabwe with a BSc in Information Technology.
By day I build data systems and dashboards for development programmes. I also built UniPilot, a study platform for Zimbabwean university students. I make websites for small businesses because a good one shouldn't cost a fortune or eat a customer's data bundle.
Everything I build is hand-coded, with no page builders or plugins, so it stays fast and cheap to run.
Questions
Do I own the website?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name, and you can take the site to another developer at any time.
I already have a Facebook page. Why a website?
Many customers, and almost all tourists, search on Google, not Facebook. A website gives your Google listing somewhere to send them, shows your prices clearly, and lets guests book direct instead of through sites that take a commission.
Can customers pay online?
Orders and bookings come through WhatsApp, and you take payment the way you do now. Card payments on the site need a registered business account with a payment gateway such as Paynow; I can add that later.
What do you need from me?
Good photos (phone photos are fine), your prices, opening hours or room details, and your WhatsApp number. I'll write the text with you.
What if I want changes later?
On the care plan, small changes are included. Without it, changes are charged by the job, and I'll tell you the price first.
